Our institution Bhilai Maitri college has a well-equipped library with a large number of text books, reference books, encyclopedia, survey and magazines. Newspaper section is also available in the library from where staff and students read daily news to keep themselves updated.
Our library focuses on several points to provide the best facilities to its users. The foremost important focusing point is to support the educational and research programs of the institute by providing physical and intellectual access to information consistent with the present and the anticipated education and research function of institute in accordance with the objectives of the institute. The library aims to develop a comprehensive collection of documents useful for the faculty and the students of the institute.

About Our Library
The college library was established in 2003. At present library is partially digitalized with a digital catalogue of books. The functioning of library has also undergone a great change over the years. It has grown into a place which engages the interest of students and invite them. It has an active library committee which takes the following initiative to make the library student friendly the institution has collection of rare books, autobiography, self-help books, motivational books other than text and reference books. Although our institution is not recognized as a place of research Centre, the library of our institution has a good number of reference books, research general’s periodical and important educational documents. In the session 2021-22 library management software KOHA has been installed KOHA is the first free software library automation package. KOHA is an integrated library system with a range of features including online public access catalogue (OPAC) module which provides a simple and clear interface for library users to perform task such as a searching for reserving items and suggestive new items. The software full fills all functional requirements of automated library system and can be customized to get to the needs of individual library.
It is a browser based software so it can be accessed from across the internet and internet once installed on the server simple network connectivity and a modern browser that all what we need to work on the system from anywhere in the world . Such feature provides an additional flexibility of rolling out changes in one go . Being with KOHA the library gets the flexibility to choose how it wishes to integrate the hardware . It is capable to support international standard like SIP 2 and NCIP for RFID hardware integration .

About Intregrated Library Management Software “Koha”
Koha is the most popular Open-Source web-based Integrated Library Management System (ILMS) being used for Automation of small to large libraries around the world. The software fulfills all functional requirements of an automated library system and can be customized to cater to the needs of individual libraries.
Koha is distributed under the open-source General Public License and is free of cost; with no extra cost on Server Software (OS) and backend database software.
